Sherburn Food and Craft Festival

It is the late August  Bank Holiday here in England and so lots of events for peeps have been organised around Yorkshire..On Saturday, Judith and Leigh wanted to take me and Crybbe to the Sherburn Food and Craft Festival in a village not too far away from where we live. But I was having one of those days when I did not want to be sociable so I hid under the sofa and refused to come out...and in the end it was my brother Danny who went with Crybbe and here are some of the photos of the day.

There was a singer who entertained the peeps with some fun songs.
Danny even had a little dance to the music BOL

Crybbe is not one for dancing though.

But he did pose for a picture beside a poster with a monkey face :-)

There were some things which were not quite what they seemed too.

This fire engine was really the back of a bar selling drinks!

And this steam engine was really a barbecue!

This was a real police van though and the Community Police let Crybbe see inside the van.

The policewoman said she would much prefer having little dogs riding with them than the bad peeps who they usually have at the back of the van!
Of course being a food festival there were plenty of stalls selling yummy treats like these Russian pies:

And these oysters....although neither the peeps nor Crybbe and Danny were too keen on them:

There were lots of animals there and not just dogs....

This is Crybbe saying hello to a black sheep..

 And some cute pygmy goats

A tortoise.

Some sweet little chicks.

 And an owl!

Danny and Crybbe enjoyed seeing the animals and birds and lots of people stopped to talk to them.

Not many people had heard of affenpinschers so they were interested to meet them.

And the boys were kind enough to bring me back a present too.

They actually brought back two new toys but the monkey is my favourite of course :-)

Fun on the Dog Walk

This is my schnauzer sister Pip who has just started learning Canine Parkour.
She has been practising at home with our dog walk and we all got a chance to try it out too.

This is my Mum Saoirse who was very good at climbing up.

And my brother Danny who was not so keen BOL

This is Aunty Frida who was very good but she liked best to supervise everyone else!

Watching to see that they got down safely.

This is me with our house guest Ollie following.
I guess the catwalk got its name as cats are so elegant, just like human models..but Ollie and me decided to enjoy our moment posing on the dog walk together BOL

And all the other doggies watched through the gate!

Crybbe and the boys visit Burton Agnes

This is Crybbe, head of our canine household, and last week he took one of our house guests, Ollie, and my brother Danny with the peeps on a trip to one of our favourite places, Burton Agnes.

This is a photo of the house where us doggies are not allowed but there are so many lovely places to explore outside no-one minded not going indoors.

Here are the boys posing on the steps into the garden. Crybbe and Danny are on the top step and Crybbe is being cheeky and poking his tongue out at Ollie BOL

The visit started with a walk through the woodland.

There were some lovely wood carvings like this one.

And then back into the gardens which are very beautiful in the sunshine.

The three boys feeling the heat!

Some of the beautiful flowers.

 And a pretty peacock butterfly.

Danny posing as usual :-)

Ollie looking good by the hydrangeas.

And Crybbe!

They had a wonderful time exploring the gardens.

Next time I plan to join the boys :-)

Enter the Dragon

So much has been happening here these past few weeks that there has not been time to blog at all!
The scariest thing of all was when the peeps told us that a dragon was coming to live here.

All I could think of was a monstrous fire breathing creature that would eat us all for breakfast!

I remembered those scary models at the sculpture park......

But when he arrived he was the tiniest baby dragon you can imagine.

And not scary at all :-)

His name is Phoenix and he is a Bearded Dragon. He was born in Derby UK and his mother is called Snickers and his father is called Thor. Our peeps went to meet all the family when they collected him.. In the wild, Bearded Dragons live in Australia where it is quite a different climate from here. He needs much hotter temperatures and lower humidity than we have here in the UK so the peeps have got him a special vivarium to live in with basking platforms and UVB lights and caves and branches to keep him happy and healthy.

Here he is enjoying the basking lamp.

And peeping out from the leaves.

He looks quite pale here but he is shedding his skin as he grows.

He is a lovely patterned orange/red colour when he has shed.

We are just getting to know him. Aoife loves to watch him from the arm of the sofa.
We are looking forward to watch him grow :-)
