Winter is Coming

It is getting much colder here now and we are having frosty mornings. Some of the trees still have their lovely coloured leaves like this one at the Yorkshire Arboretum. Crybbe put on his woolly jumper and went for a walk with the peeps the other day through the fallen leaves.

The leaves on the cherry tree in our garden have turned yellow and are falling too.

Trilby and Pip were looking for treasures in the leaves BOL

But now the colder nights and days have come we need logs for the fire.

And here is a mountain of logs on our driveway!

And stacked neatly in the shed.

Here I am checking the kindling.

And making sure all the wood is put away safe and dry in the shed.

We have a lovely warm fire going now in the evenings.

And Raven is happy to have the warmest spot on the mat in front!

Doggy Days Out with Friends

While I was confined to the garden recovering from my operation, some of the others went out for some walks and fun with the peeps and met up with lots of other doggies too. Here are some pictures of a couple of doggy days out last month.

This is photo of Temple Newsam Hall which is not very far away from where we live. Dogs are welcome in the grounds and can be off lead in the park and woods which is fun but it can be very muddy after the rain....and we have had a lot of rain lately BOL

As you can see it was not a good place to go if you don't like getting your paws wet!

Danny was not too impressed with the muddy puddles and neither was Magic.

And then when they were coming out of the woods they met some monsters!

There were moving dinosaur models in the park too!

It was a better day when the peeps took Trilby, Magic and our holiday guest Ruby to a doggy play field for a meet up with other schnauzers and doggy friends.

Everyone had a great time chasing and running and looking for treats!

Ruby stood out from the crowd in her bright red harness.

She made lots of new friends - dogs and humans.

I had lots of games with the others at home though - when you have ten dogs in your family there is always someone ready to play.

More fun to come :-)

Return to Blogville

Well it has been a long time since I was last blogging but thank you everyone who left messages from my last visit and I hope to catch up with posts very soon. There has been so much happening here these past few months that the peeps have not had time to update my blog until now so here is a quick look back at some of the events...and more to come soon.

This is probably the biggest event as far as I am concerned BOL
I had a little operation to stop me having "seasons" and the boys getting too interested in me!
I had to go to the vet surgery with my Mum & Pip who were having the same op.
We did all get to come home the same day and got well looked after by our peeps.

This is Saoirse (my Mum) fast asleep on the sofa.

And this is me sharing a crate with her too.

We are wearing our suitical recovery vests which helped to keep us snug and warm although the peeps said it was also to keep us from licking at our stitches.

I must say that I did quite like my little vest and did miss wearing it when I was all healed up.

But all is well now and I can play in the garden with the others just as I did before the operation. Yesterday I had great fun with Danny in the garden chasing and wrestling.

There have been lots of visitors here too in the past month as some of the puppies who were born here have been coming back for little holidays while their new families are abroad.

This is Ruby (one of Pip's pups) who now lives in London and who stayed with us for a week.

And this is Kaspar who is Trilby's son.

And Mabel who is Magic's daughter.
They live with a family in York not far from us. They had been on a holiday trip to New York and bought back these lovely gifts for Judith & Leigh :-)

Well this is just a little catch-up post...more to follow very soon.

Sherburn Food and Craft Festival

It is the late August  Bank Holiday here in England and so lots of events for peeps have been organised around Yorkshire..On Saturday, Judith and Leigh wanted to take me and Crybbe to the Sherburn Food and Craft Festival in a village not too far away from where we live. But I was having one of those days when I did not want to be sociable so I hid under the sofa and refused to come out...and in the end it was my brother Danny who went with Crybbe and here are some of the photos of the day.

There was a singer who entertained the peeps with some fun songs.
Danny even had a little dance to the music BOL

Crybbe is not one for dancing though.

But he did pose for a picture beside a poster with a monkey face :-)

There were some things which were not quite what they seemed too.

This fire engine was really the back of a bar selling drinks!

And this steam engine was really a barbecue!

This was a real police van though and the Community Police let Crybbe see inside the van.

The policewoman said she would much prefer having little dogs riding with them than the bad peeps who they usually have at the back of the van!
Of course being a food festival there were plenty of stalls selling yummy treats like these Russian pies:

And these oysters....although neither the peeps nor Crybbe and Danny were too keen on them:

There were lots of animals there and not just dogs....

This is Crybbe saying hello to a black sheep..

 And some cute pygmy goats

A tortoise.

Some sweet little chicks.

 And an owl!

Danny and Crybbe enjoyed seeing the animals and birds and lots of people stopped to talk to them.

Not many people had heard of affenpinschers so they were interested to meet them.

And the boys were kind enough to bring me back a present too.

They actually brought back two new toys but the monkey is my favourite of course :-)
